The AI Act is the world's first comprehensive law on artificial intelligence and it applies directly across the whole EU, including the Czech Republic. The key wave of obligations reaches ordinary companies on 2 August 2026.
For most businesses, two things matter. If you run a chatbot or AI customer support on your website, the user must clearly know they are talking to a machine, not a person. And if you publish images, video or audio created by AI that look authentic, you must label them as artificially generated. Ordinary company texts that a human reviews and takes responsibility for before publishing do not need a special label.
Enforcement also kicks in for obligations that have formally applied since February 2025, including AI literacy for employees. Fines can reach up to 35 million euros or 7 percent of worldwide turnover, with proportionally lower amounts for smaller firms.
Our tip: take an inventory of everywhere you use AI in the company (from Canva to customer support), sort each tool into a risk category, and add labeling where it is missing. We are happy to walk through it with you and put it in place.
